Keep It Rolling - Part 2 has us figuring out how we're actually rolling in life, keep the momentum rolling and focus your attention on things you actually want.
Episode 8 - Life From The Shadows
Eastern philosophies say all life starts in darkness. In western psychology, the shadow represents the parts of ourselves we don't like. As these universal energies rise up, what does that mean for you? Where does it all start? Does that mean we should be afraid of the dark?
Episode 9 - What's Important To You?
What we deem "important" can guide us towards what we want or what we don't want. There's some little tricks at play in our culture so are you doing what you want because it's uniquely important to you or that's what you've ben told..?
Episode 10 - Guilt, Shame, Fear and The Lungs
Today starts a discussion on the emotional flow of the five elements. Each element corresponds with different organs, emotions, biological functions and energetic channels. What is the importance of the Lung to health? The Lung’s major functions include maintaining healthy immune defences against pathogens, as well as circulating energy and fluids throughout the body. The body retains memories. In stressful situations, this can set off a psychosomatic and/or viscerosomatic reaction; the human body is the seat of a permanent "emotion-organ-bahviour-organ" cycle.
Episode 11 - Fear and The Kidneys
Matt and Nuala are in the emotional flow of the five elements. The next stage are the kidneys. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Kidney is the powerhouse of the body, supplying reserve energy to any organ running low on energy or Qi. We hold emotions in the fascia surrounding organs. Fear is the emotion associated with the Kidney. With severe panic attacks and fear, your body may be trying to tell you that Kidney energy is deficient or is imbalanced. This exploration of psychosomatic and/or viscerosomatic reactions often show up as seemingly unrelated symptoms.
Due to technical issues and Matt’s inability with technology, today's video stops at around 12 minutes. View full episode Here
Ep 12 - Anger and The Liver
This week, The Wizard and The Priestess move on to the growing bud and finding our boundaries. This connects us to the element of WOOD which, correlates to the liver. The liver holds the emotion of ANGER. They discuss how that plays out in our day-to-day life and how acts out as when it is dysfunctional. They also go into how they have seen that express itself in the clinic.
Episode 13 - Joy and The Heart
The Heart, according to Chinese medicine, is the Emperor of all organs. This means that all the other organs will sacrifice for the Heart. Finishing the "Shen" cycle in Traditional Chinese Medicine, delving into the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of the heart. This ties into modern psychology and the affects at has on the anatomical structures surrounding the heart.
Episode 14 - Worry, Overwhelm, Self-Esteem and The Spleen-Pancreas
Today we talk about the home of the self. From digesting food to thoughts, and emotions to perceptions, this part of the body reactions before the brain and holds it all. What does it look like?
Episode 15 - Hormones and Heaven
Today we dive into the controversially "forgotten" sixth element of the five elements. Or at the very least the element that tends to be tacked on to the FIRE element, but correlates more coherently to its own element of HEAVEN with a deep interplay with EARTH.
From an organ perspective we are talking about the TRIPLE BURNER or San Jiao and PERICARDIUM or heart protector. It is the only element where by its yang organ is only energetic and does not actually correlate to physical flesh. However, as we explain today, we believe it powerfully corresponds to our hormonal system, as they both work to influence and coordinate harmony within the body and are something we cannot live without!
Episode 16 - Diagnosing The Diagnosis
Our bodies reflect our mental and emotional anatomy. When we can no longer discharge our stressors, problems arise. It can take decades to form a diagnosis. We discuss what goes on behind the scenes and how the seeds of dis-ease are sown. Upper respiratory disorders, heart issues and hypertension are way too common in the western world, we tell you why!
Episode 17 - The Face Value of Disease
Continuing into the psychosomatics of dis-ease. Discussing the pill, endometriosis, unconscious becoming conscious and, emotional triggers. These are often physical manifestations of rhythmic disorders between the body-mind-spirit complex in an attempt to show how, where and why the body is on disorder!
Episode 18 - Connections to Cancer, Diabetes and Heart Disease
This week in our dissection, we continue with the anatomy, physiology and metaphysical correlations with cancer, diabetes and heart disease. A single cancer cell is protective but the diagnosis is the bodies attempt to manage chaos, often unfavourably. The frequent ups downs of life can show up in our blood sugar and when we take things personally, we often take it to "heart". When we can no longer discharge our chaos, problems arise then it can take weeks to decades to form a diagnosis.
Episode 19 - Attacking Yourself
A lot of people today are at war within themselves. There's a great internal conflict between achievement and the call to stillness. As a result, the toll of being out of balance emotionally, spiritually and physically often results in a cellular attack that we know as an autoimmune disorder.
Episode 20 - Thoughts About Mental Health
Mental health...what is that? Chemical imbalance? Certain traits that qualify us as "ill"? Maybe acknowledging the fact that we're all a little f@#ked up can be all the difference. We go deep into the psyche and see where parts of us can become fractioned off from the whole, highlighting what's missing within us and they ways we're told to find it.
Episode 21 - Where's The Love?
Most people think of love in a romantic context however, there are certain "qualities" of love that flow in, around and through us everyday. A lot of people don't recognise when they're being loved or how to show people close to them which, ultimately leads to frustration and often resentment. This episode explores different ideas around love and wait til the end because The Priestess surprises The Wizard with an...interesting concept!
Episode 22 - Before The "Big Bang"
The gift of life is a miracle! Preconception care has many models. From medicines to pills and dancing's to diets. With the stresses of modern living and recent world events, getting pregnant isn't easy for some. A body that is too ‘cold’ will struggle to provide adequate energy and affects the body constitution and overall well-being. A healthy womb is one that is considered ‘warm’ enough. Most models focus only on the woman, what about the man?
Episode 23 - Going Within to Without in Pregnancy
There is typically a weak appreciation of the interaction between the growing foetus and the pregnant mother. Western Medicine sees the pregnant mother and the foetus as two seperate entities. With Eastern Medicine, they are managed as one.
This weeks delves into the messages that the body-mind communicate during this time and how we can listen and act...especially for men!
Episode 24 - Ancestral Birthing
Birth is the most human thing human beings have been doing since we started being. Without it we don't exist.
Today's humans tend to fear our biological imprint of physiological birth. They lean away from the ancestral animals that we are. Instead, we can lean towards a curated support model that is based on risk and the assessment of that risk to the physical often bypassing other aspects of humanness ie. Emotional, Mental and Spiritual.
Episode 25 - Protecting Postpartum
The month following childbirth is a crucial period that can significantly influence a woman’s health, contingent on her postpartum care. In today’s world, much of the emphasis is directed towards the newborn with the expectation for the mother to ‘bounce back’ into the daily grind. After pregnancy and birth of a child, a woman’s body will lose a significant amount of blood, energy, and balance, leaving her susceptible to fatigue, low mood and decreased immunity. Now is “sitting the month” - the first 40 days postnatal period in which a new mother is advised to fully rest to restore her strength and spend time bonding with her newborn, despite societal demands.
Episode 26 - Infant Development
The first 7-10 years of infant development is crucial. As a child crawls they activate specific visceral, glandular/hormonal and, mental-emotional faculties as well as preparing the body to effectively stabilise itself in a field of gravity and move in the most efficient way. This stimulates the right brain and aids its ability to soak up information from the environment and play.
Any breech in any stage of the natural infant development process is likely to result in a correlative deficiency in adult body alignment, movement, perception, muscle recruitment, digestive capacities, coordination and mental-emotional imbalances. In toddlers, lots of tantrums!
Episode 27 - Schooling Vs. Education
Mark Twain once said "don't let schooling get in the way of your education". There are many school systems available however, few cater to the natural neurological development of the child. Most of our schooling attempts to activate the left brain from as early as 4 years of age while the right brain is mostly active until the approximate age of 10. This can lead to low self esteem, anxiety, depression and a host of "diagnosis'" that are seemingly in epidemic proportions today.
Episode 28 - Men and Women
Men and women are wired a little differently. Sometimes subtly and other times, not so much. The biological neurology that drive male and female thoughts and behaviours are designed to be different however, in today's world it's seemingly more and more difficult to allow this neurology to flow. This suppression ultimately leads to pressure, disorder and ultimately confusion.
Episode 29 - Not So Healthy Health Devices
In this episode, we explore the realm of biohacking and health devices. From Fitbits to microwaves and sleep apps to menstrual trackers, most people believe they're helping their health but few realise the greater reality of what's really going on. Ironically, using many of these devices can disrupt the very thing they claim to aid. Do these devices lead people to change their behaviour in ways that can positively affect their health or is this trend disassociating people from themselves?
Episode 30 - Not So Healthy Health Foods
We all want healthy snacks and unfortunately, our culture dictates we ‘have’ to be busy, we have to work 20 hours a day to make all the money to buy things we don’t want to impress people we don’t really like. In this pursuit, food manufacturers have marketed products that are 'healthy' for us including 'low fat' this and 'diet' that as well as such labels including natural, no/low sugar and even organic. A lot of these products are a double edged sword and are doing more harm than good. Some of these products like coffee can be beneficial, although it's often about timing, how it's made and what it does to your body.
Episode 31 - Not So Healthy Healthy Diets
Out of all the diets there, which one is the best? Carnivore? Vegan? Calorie Counting? In truth, no two diets work the the same for everyone. Each diet has its time and place where it can be beneficial. When we subscribe to one particular diet because we saw it on TV, we run the risk of doing more harm than the diet itself.
Episode 32 - Walking Through Some Wizardry
Upon The Wizard's return from teaching CHEK advanced training courses, we go deeper into what that entails and what kinds of therapy he actually does. From visceral manipulation to exercise and psychology coaching to working with the brain. We go on a little excursion into The Wizard's world with an interesting little hack to help clear the sinuses and breathe better.
Episode 33 - Healthy Life Hacks
Delving into the world of life hacks which, are a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage time and daily activities in a more efficient way. Health hacks are a 'do it yourself' form of health enhancement, in an attempt to change aspects of biology to improve your health, performance, and/or well-being. This week, we discuss the different types of health hacks prescribed to patients and ourselves to make our lives a little easier.
Episode 34 - Creating Conscious Communities
In today's culture, we've lost our communities, our wise elders and rites of passage. Much of the knowledge that's usually passed down through generations has been censored or banned in today's world because of the collective agenda of not fitting in. Unfortunately, a lot of people feel lost if they don't fit in with everyone else but there's many things we can do about that!
Episode 35 - Secrets of Self-Sabotage
Tackling the saboteur which, this is an archetypal pattern that everybody has. The saboteur is a mechanism in us that activates every time we have an opportunity to empower ourself or someone else, and causes us to make choices that block our success. This pattern is often unconsciously learnt early in life from our parents and some religious ideologies. In any moment, we have the choice to take ourselves down and conversely, empower ourselves. Many of these patterns are recognisable and ways to shine light on the shadow.
Episode 36 - Attacking Anxiety
Today, anxiety is out of control. Anxiety is sometimes associated with Heart and Spleen Deficiency, a so-called "patterns of disharmony". Viewing the body as a system, not a sum of isolated parts. This "pattern" is when the system's harmony is disrupted. It is not equivalent to the Western concept of "disease" because both concepts arise from totally different ways of seeing the human body. To understand anxiety, we need to look for signs and symptoms associated with the pattern beyond what someone might typically experience from anxiety alone. At times the body interprets overall stress as mental-emotional anxiety.
Episode 37 - Focusing on What's Wrong
After celebrating personal new years, tacking an actual pandemic of the psyche which is focusing on everything that's going "wrong". Walking into the mystical path with practical feet to deepen the human experience and embody the character development to increase personal and professional effectiveness. Subscription to media being one of the major causes to focusing on everything that's wrong in which we adopt as our own.
Episode 38 - Moving Through Spirit, Aliens and Densities Part 1
We often have an erroneous concept of the mind/body/spirit complex. We are conditioned to believe that we are just something mechanical and if it can't be weighed or measured, it doesn't exist. As we traverse this eclipse season, many changes are occurring at many levels. A mechanical change is relatively simple however, we are infinitely more complex than any machine. Moving from spirit to physical form through many illusions can be mind bending and can also have an resonating affect knowing how your higher self communicates with you through this.
Episode 38 - Moving Through Spirit, Aliens and Densities Part 2
Episode 39 - Working Through Worlds of Conscious Evolution
Moving through several models of conscious evolution to allow a blueprint of the nature of evolution. Our body is a necessity without which our mind/body/spirit complex cannot pursue evolution. Sometimes pain is a necessary catalyst for change and when viewed as such, can be a useful aid in our lives. After a journey through dimensions and densities, how do we utilise this blueprint to enhance our human experience?
Episode 40 - Conditioning The Body For Any Occasion
Conditioning the physical body requires a certain stimulus. This stimulus also requires specific intensities and timings. Intensities and timings will determine the outcome of training regardless of the goal. Different goals like preconception/pre/post natal, weight loss and strength training all require different specificities. The Wizard was asked to explain a hypothetical exercise program for The Priestess which went...interestingly.
Episode 41 - Why Am I Not Losing Weight?
With obesity rates through the roof, most people have tried some sort of diet and with so many diet books, pills, injections and, meal replacements claiming to work, why is obesity still becoming a problem? It's not about counting calories, skipping meals or punishing yourself in the gym to lose weight, it's simply what you eat, when you eat and harmonising your nervous system to bring the body back into balance so it will function optimally.
Episode 42 - Anxiety With Separation
As we move into a new astrological age, a huge cosmic purge cleans out old energy and brings new energy in. This transition can create a lot of separation anxiety. Commonly known as a common fear that children have of being away from their families, little attention is given to the parental relationship to the child and the level of anxiety reflecting the close attachment between children and their families. This anxiety also creeps into many other relationships in our lives.
Episode 43 - Birth After Death
There's a lot of dogma about death. It's easy to get caught up in the trap of fear of death however, death and birth need each other. They are names of two halves of a circle. Without death, we wouldn’t have a sense of appreciation of life, we wouldn’t take it seriously. Death is by no means an end but a real transition where we come face to face with the depth of our bonds with the souls that we share life with. Be it physical, relational or change in general, it’s birth into an experience of reconnection and reawakening to the truth of what life and love is really all about.
Episode 44 - From Colds to Cancer: a mental hijack
Certain words provoke certain responses within our minds. We associate some words with ease or hope and others with pain or death. Many words have changed definitions throughout time whether through social evolution or clever marketing. A diagnosis of a disease can give you clues on how to cure it, whereas others imply certain doom. Today looks at the interpretation of words and how these words really aren't as scary as we've made them out to be.
Episode 45.1 - Don't Believe Everything You Believe
Any belief can be the making or breaking of someone. As we hear ideas, we form thoughts and as we continue thinking those thoughts a belief is formed. Our beliefs navigate our lives to such a degree we can often unconsciously direct an outcome whether we want it or not. There are some common beliefs the collective adopt and live out. Often these aren't our own and we pay the consequences.
Episode 45.2 - Don't Believe Everything You Believe
Episode 46 - Don't Believe Everything You Believe Part 2
Continuing the discussion from last week with some common beliefs people adopt and live out. Often these aren't our own and we pay the consequences. Common beliefs about Heaven and Hell to relationships and how we "should" act within the societal norms to what most people think karma is. People navigate their lives according to their own biases within these core beliefs.
